The Malayalam Language Program - Malayala Lokam began on April 3, 2005 with 31 participants (ages 6-21) enrolled in the program. The students' enthusiasm, attendance, diligence in homework completion and interest in learning the language were noteworthy.

Under the leadership of committed instructors, volunteers, and parents, they learned the Malayalam alphabets: Swarangal, Matrakal, Vyanjanangal, Vyanjana Chihnangal, Chillaksharangal, and Koottaksharangal.

In addition to learning to write sentences and read Malayalam liturgy during the Sunday Worship, students also learn to value their culture and roots.
